SaltbushJobs runs saltbushjobs.com. We advertise home-based opportunities to people living in Australia and put interested applicants in touch with the employers behind them. We work from Cooma, New South Wales, and our email address is careers@saltbushjobs.com. The employer for each opportunity is a separate business; we do not hire anyone. This policy covers the personal information we handle when you browse the site, apply or get in touch, and follows the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Our application form asks for your name, your age, your gender, your nationality, your email address and your WhatsApp number. If you use iMessage on an iPhone or RCS on an Android phone, you can also add that number, but you do not have to. We also receive the WhatsApp message you send us after the form and any email you write to us.
Visiting a page or submitting the form also generates technical data: IP address, browser and device details, which pages were viewed and when, the referring page and advertising identifiers. It is used to run and protect the site and to understand whether our advertising works.
The form cannot be sent with a required question unanswered, and without those answers we may not be able to consider or forward your application. Nothing beyond the form's questions is needed.
The form has no banking questions. We never ask for account numbers, card numbers, internet banking logins, passwords, one-time codes, tax file numbers or scans of identity documents, and you should not send them. Anything like that which reaches us is deleted.
Your details let us assess and answer your application, match it to the opportunity you chose, introduce you to the employer for that opportunity, keep you informed about the next steps, keep an accurate record of applications and correspondence, look into complaints or misuse, check how our advertising performs and comply with the law.
Contact lists are never sold or rented. An application is not treated as agreement to receive marketing, and we do not run a mailing list. Should a different employer seem a better match, we describe that introduction to you first and share nothing for it unless you say yes.
Access within SaltbushJobs is limited to the people who process applications. The employer for the role you chose receives the details relevant to that role, and you are told which employer it is, and what will be passed on, before the introduction is made.
The application form is hosted and processed by Waformly. Cloudflare hosts and secures the website and forwards email sent to our address. Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) are used to measure advertising. Google Fonts supplies the site's typefaces. WhatsApp and the providers it works with carry the messages you exchange with us there. Each of them may handle the details you submit, technical data or both, depending on what it does, and employers and messaging services apply their own privacy policies to information they hold.
Information may be disclosed where a law requires it, or where the law allows it and disclosure is reasonably needed to look into misuse or to protect someone's rights.
An application is only complete once two things have happened: the form is submitted, and you send our HR team the application message on WhatsApp. Submitting the form opens WhatsApp with a message ready to go, but nothing is sent until you check the chat and press Send yourself. Waformly receives your form answers at the moment you submit, even if you never send the WhatsApp message. The message itself goes to our HR team. That means a copy of your application can exist on the form platform, in our authorised email and WhatsApp accounts, and later with the employer. No WhatsApp? Cookies, local storage and similar technologies may be used by this site and the services built into it, for the site to function, for security and for advertising measurement. Your browser lets you control or remove them; some parts of the site or the form may not work if you block them.
When the application form is submitted, Google Ads (tag AW-18233528472) is told that a submission happened, along with technical identifiers from your visit. Your name, email, phone number and answers are not included in that event or in any measurement URL. When we advertise on Facebook or Instagram, the Meta Pixel records a page view on each page and, when the form is submitted, a Lead event and a Purchase event with a fixed value of RM1 that is used only to measure ads. The same two events can also be sent to Meta from our own server (the Meta Conversions API) with your IP address, browser details and Meta cookie identifiers, so Meta can link them to the ad you clicked; none of your form answers are included. We do not use enhanced conversions, Customer Match or remarketing audiences. If consent is required by law or by the platform for a particular use, we ask for it beforehand and let you change your mind later.
Waformly, Cloudflare, Google, Meta and WhatsApp run infrastructure in several countries, the United States included, so your information may be processed outside Australia. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles on overseas disclosure. Email us if you would like to know more about how this applies to you.
We keep application records and related messages for a maximum of 12 months after our last meaningful recruitment contact with you. They are removed earlier if you ask, and kept longer only if a legal obligation or a dispute requires it. Server and security logs held by our hosting provider generally expire within 30 days, and backups containing deleted information expire within a further 30 days.
HTTPS protects the website and the form in transit. Applications can only be opened by people who need them to do their job. Although no system is perfectly secure, if a breach is likely to result in serious harm we tell the people affected, as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
If an employer or a messaging provider holds its own copy of your information, deleting our records does not remove theirs. We will tell you who to contact in that case.
Write to careers@saltbushjobs.com to see what we hold, fix something that is wrong, have your information deleted, withdraw your application or raise a privacy concern. We may need to confirm it is really you. Requests are answered within 30 days where possible, and if something cannot be done we say why and what the options are. A withdrawal stops future use but cannot undo an introduction that has already happened.
Your record is only as accurate as the answers you gave. Tell us if your contact details or circumstances change and we will update it.
Applications are not filtered or rejected by software. Someone reads each one, and hiring decisions are made by the employer.
The site is aimed at adults looking for work. We do not knowingly collect children's information and remove it if we find it.
Tell us at careers@saltbushjobs.com what went wrong. We look into it and reply in writing with what we found and what we did. If you are not satisfied, reply to that message and a different person reviews the complaint from the beginning.
Updated versions of this policy are posted here with the new date. If a change would affect how we use information we already hold, we give notice or seek permission first where that is required.
